Ducati Xerox Junior Team complete successful pre-season test at Binetto, Italy
Between the 12th and 13th February at the Binetto track in the south of Italy, the Ducati Xerox Junior Team concluded its second test in 2009 ahead of the season opener at Valencia on April 5th. Despite the low temperature that never rose above 9 degrees, Ducati Xerox debutants Xavier Simeon (BEL) and Daniele Beretta (ITA) successfully tested a variety of bike settings.
XAVIER SIMEON – “The intense cold was our worst enemy but, thanks to the work of the whole team, I made constant improvement with a final fastest time of 47.2 which wasn’t bad for the track conditions. We’ll do three more days of testing at Valencia in March and then the championship gets underway – I can’t wait to start!"
DANIELE BERETTA – “Riding a 1000cc bike here is not easy. My best time was 47.9 and the team was happy with this although I would have liked to have been faster. We still have time to improve further and this means I am still pretty relaxed.
SERAFINO FOTI, TEAM DIRECTOR – “We are following a work programme that should see us totally prepared for the new season. The riders were able to complete more than 180 laps each, both trying out a different setting. We are very happy with the progress we are making and with the riders’ performance and hard work.”
